Nursery 2024 - 2025

Welcome to Woodland Nursery

Miss Baxter, Miss Alker and Mrs Rotheram are our teachers and we are lucky to be supported by Mrs Milward, Miss Tyrer and Miss Chadwick ans Mrs Hornsby.

All our staff are incredibly dedicated and will always be there before and after school if ever you would like a chat.

If your child likes getting messy, dinosaurs, unicorns, singing, exploring and experimenting then they will love Woodland Nursery - we can’t wait to hear from you!

Over the course of this year, we will be developing the children’s resilience, encouraging them to ‘have a go’, enhancing their communication and language skills and make some special friendships that will continue into the start of their school career.

If you have a child in Nursery, here are some things you need to know:

Wellies are essential as we love exploring the outdoors, going on bear hunts and jumping in puddles.

We access our outdoor area ‘Acorn Wood’ come rain or shine.

In cold weather you will also need to ensure your child has a hat, scarf and gloves which are named as well as a warm coat.

Snack is £1 per week and is collected on a Monday morning for the week ahead.

Book bags will be sent home every night containing a book to share with your child and a reading record.

To develop a love of reading we recommend that you read with your child everyday and write a comment in their reading record to tell us what your child thought of the story.

You will receive a letter detailing how to access this at the beginning of the year so please set this up as soon as possible.
